The Top Three Street Foods on Khaosan Road, Bangkok, Thailand
If you are making the trip to Bangkok, you will most likely end up on Khaosan Road, which is easily the best street in Bangkok and possibly in all of Asia. While you are there, you must take advantage of three street foods (and one street drink), that will blow your mind and your taste buds (while having virtually no effect on your budget):
1) Pad Thai: If you have had ever had Pad Thai, you know that it can be made with a variety of different ingredients. This version is simple and simply awesome. For 10 baht (approx. 33cents US), you can have a plate of heaven, cooked right in front of you and dressed the way you like, right on the street (don’t worry, you will have plenty of people to eat with).
2) Spring Rolls: I have no idea what they do to make them so good, but for less than the cost of one greenback, you can enjoy 4 amazing spring rolls, doused in sweet and sour sauce.
3) Banana pancakes: crepe-like in shape and consistency, loaded with fresh bananas and topped with condensed milk…yours for less than 75 cents!
***To wash it all down: Freshly squeezed tangerine juice: 10 baht for a small and 15 for a large. Let the smiling lady (she has been there each of the three times I have been to Thailand over the last 5 years), set you up with the best tasting freshly squeezed juice that you have ever tasted.
